Framlingham
1st VII
Result: Lost 28-18
On Saturday the 1st VII played against a tough and well organised Framlingham side. The 1st VII got off to a bit of a slow start and Framlingham took every advantage to score and at half time the Felsted side were 16-5 down. After half time Felsted picked up their play; passes were more accurate and the defence worked incredibly hard to turn over much of the Framlingham play. The second half of the game was actually won by Felsted 13-12 but unfortunately this was not enough to secure the victory and Framlingham went away with a 28-18 win. Player of the match was awarded to Maddie Smith who played with determination and control throughout the whole game however this was closely contested by Hayley Young who's movement around the circle and shooting accuracy was outstanding.
2nd VII
Result: Won 46-22
Another successful win for the 2nds. The girls had said that they were extremely hot after a good warm up before the match, but it seems that this paid dividends. Movement throughout the court was excellent from the start of the game, with exemplary attacking play (Bea, Lucy, Charlotte, Olivia) to feed the circle where shooting was excellent from both Helen and Caitlin. Defence worked tirelessly, to tip off loose balls and fight for the rebounds (Isabella, Rachel). The final score was 46-22. Player of the match: Charlotte Volf.
3rd VII
Result: Won 19-16
The Thirds played a great netball match yesterday against a strong Framlingham side. Olivia was player of the match for her commitment and enthusiasm during the game. Taby and Suzie worked well together in the circle and were both on fine shooting form. Anastasia and Paige supported them well in the mid-court and Annabel and Sophie's defence was committed and effective.
4th VII
Result: Won 16-15
The match against Framlingham was very evenly matched, so Felsted was going to have to work very hard. The team made a good start but headed into the third quarter behind by two goals. After some good coaching by Georgina the team was ready to fight in the last quarter and the two shooters, Ellie and Georgia, made some fantastic goals! The defending by Sophia and Immy was excellent and, as a result of this, Felsted pulled it back to win. Phoebe was awarded the woman of the match for her sheer effort and determination throughout the game.
U15 B
Result: Won 16-3
On Saturday the 18th, the U15 B netball team fought against Framingham to strive for another unbeaten season, they did so by winning 16-3 with Olivia Fenn as player of the match despite a fall in the 2nd quarter. Tia Richards played an aggressive game and Charley Moore ensured hardly any goals were scored against us! Lily's half time Team Captain talk motiated us to pul away with a victory in the final quarter!
U14 A
Result: 21-7
Despite our strong start to the season last week we unfortunately lost the match 21-7 to a very strong team. Although in the last 1/4 we held our ground letting only 4 in and gaining 3. Player of the match goes to Abi Magee.
U14 C
Result: Lost 16-8
The U14C had a good game against Framlingham on Saturday. Yumico Cui was player of the match. Her first ever netball match and showed how a basketball background can help as GD. Emily Tydeman found her feet as C and the team worked well together, despite the hard effort they were beaten 16 - 8. Never quite recovering from the first quarter.

U14 A v St Edmund's
Tuesday 26th February
Result: Won 20-16
The Felsted girls started with a very positive attitude and
lead in the first quarter, but only by one goal! They went into the second
quarter with a calm and steady rhythm, creating space for each other and
working as a team. Their lead increased and the score at half time was 11-8 to
Felsted. In the third quarter the
Felsted girls lost focus slightly and St Edmunds pulled back. The Felsted girls
stayed strong and held their lead until the final whistle, making the score at
full time 20-16 to Felsted.

U14 v The Leys
U14 A
Result: Won 19-15
U14 C
Result: Lost 11-20
Result: Won 19-15
Match report:
Buoyed from their excellent third position in an U15 tournament earlier in the week, Felsted U14 A got off to an excellent start against The Leys. They stormed ahead to an 11-3 lead at half time, with excellent defence from Sophie Cuthbert and Rachael Freedman. Once the shooters got their eye in there was some superb shooting from both Caitlin Perrie and Tabby Carey.
The Leys made a comeback in the last quarter of the match, pulling closer and closer to Felsted’s score. However, Felsted held strong and were rewarded with a 19-15 victory.Star Player: Rachael Freedman
U14 B
Result: Won 22-10
U14 B
Result: Won 22-10
Match report: On a wet and windy Saturday afternoon, the girls trooped out on court to play The Leys. After some quick warm up drills, we dominated play and kept a solid lead throughout each quarter (with the obligatory jelly babies making an appearance). After some slippery footwork, we clawed our way up to a 22 - 10 victory! Player of the match goes to Anastacia May for her performance as GK! Keep up the good work for the last 2 matches ladies.
Star Player: Anastacia MayResult: Lost 11-20
Match report: A disappointing result today but The Leys played a very strong team and Felsted fought very hard. After the first quarter Felsted were ahead 5-4 but the Leys had an excellent second quarter and the half ended at 11-5 to the away team. After the break however, Felsted really fought back and Mary Cole did some excellent defending, blocking several shots and making key interceptions. Brittany Cowell and Natalie Morgan switched positions in the second half which really paid off with Brittany scoring several goals in the third and fourth quarter and Natalie pairing up with Mary. Unfortunately the Leys were far too strong, with excellent special awareness and a very tall goalkeeper who made it difficult for Georgia and Brittany. Well done to all the girls, Sophie did very well as captain and showed good leadership. They can learn a lot from today for the last two matches of the season next week!

U14 v Culford
U14 A
Result: Lost 19-18
Match report: A busy week of fixtures ended with Felsted travelling to take on Culford. An organised Culford team came out strongly and caught Felsted off guard, racing to an 8-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.
U14 B
Result: Won 27-12
U14 C
Result: Won 10-13
Match report: Another win for the U14C team, despite major changes. It was a tight match, with Felsted ahead by just two goals after the first quarter. Culford had a very quick GA and a skilled centre who caused us a few problems throughout the match. However, captain Faye Calow and centre, Anna Rachmann, did extremely well to get the better of them most of the time, especially as Anna has only started playing the sport this year! Sarah Walsh and Natalie Morgan also deserve special mention for their first match of the season and it was a real shame that Sarah hurt her ankle towards the end of the third quarter, having played very well. Natalie teamed up nicely with Izzy Wiggins, scoring several of Felsted’s 13 goals. Culford nearly went level at 11-10, but Felsted quickly pulled two goals back, and the match finished after the third quarter because of Sarah’s injury. Well done to all and get well soon to Sarah!

Match report: A busy week of fixtures ended with Felsted travelling to take on Culford. An organised Culford team came out strongly and caught Felsted off guard, racing to an 8-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Felsted, however, showed their grit and determination pulling back to within 2 goals and the end of the first half. Shooters Tabby Carey and Caitlin Perrie found their stride and some excellent defence lead by Goal Defence Sophie Cuthbert meant that even Culfords’ talented attack struggled.
At the end of the third quarter Felsted were one goal ahead, leading to an incredibly tense final quarter. Felsted maintained their one goal lead, however, in the dying minutes Culford pulled level and just before the final whistle managed to score the winning goal. Felsted should be proud of the way they battled back in an incredibly competitive game. We will work on coming out strong in the first quarter so playing catch up isn’t needed!
Star Player: Sophie Cuthbert U14 B
Result: Won 27-12
Match report: On Saturday the 10th, the under 14 B team played Culford away. We started off strong in the first quarter. We defended well and we attacked viciously and this continued through the whole match. The end score was 27-12.

U14 v St Edmunds
Result: Won 28-1
Match report: The second match of the week for Felsted saw them take on St Edmunds at home. Despite showing some feisty play, St Edmunds were no match for the in form Felsted team. Felsted showed excellent skill working the ball down the court, and were always one step ahead. Outstanding defence from Rachael Freedman and Sophie Cuthbert meant that St Edmunds were only allowed to score once in the whole match.
Felsted really showed how well they can work as a team and reaped the rewards by achieving a 28-1 victory. Hopefully they can make it a hat-trick of wins this week when they play Culford on Saturday.

U14 v St Marys
Result: Won 10-6
Match report: Today’s match got off to a messy start, with both teams struggling to find players on their own team with their passes! Felsted started the match far too quickly, which led to sloppy passes and throwing away any advantage they had. A very tall GK for St Marys also saw the Felsted shooters struggle to perform to their usual standard, leading to a 4-4 draw at half time.
Luckily Felsted always seem to improve in the second half/quarter and started to pull away, with improved passing and some excellent interceptions from Molly McGuckian, Jemima Upton, Sophie Cuthbert and Rachael Freedman. Excellent passing and linking work from Molly meant that the ball travelled more smoothly into the attacking third. Felsted were able to capitalise on this and pull ahead to finish with a 10-6 victory.
This ended up being a good start to a busy week of fixtures for Felsted!Star Player: Molly McGuckian
Result: Won 12-4Match report: With the sun out and the feel of Spring in the air, the girls warmed up in preparation for the Tuesday match with smiles. Splitting the games into halves meant that the girls had to work hard in the first 15 mins but we were possessive on court and took the first half 7 - 0. In the second half, St Mary's came back fighting but we managed to hold down our victory with some brilliant shooting and a final score of 12 - 4.
Captained by Hattie Botwright, who led the team admirably and with Sophia Butler nominated as Man of the Match, another impressive win under our belts.

U14 A/B v The Perse
U14 A
Result: Won 18-11
U14 B
Result: Won 8-2
Result: Won 18-11
Match report: An altered team line-up saw Felsted get off to a slow start against The Perse. The first quarter was very quiet and saw The Perse lead 5-4 by the end. After a quick team talk, Felsted came back out buoyed and started to play a more lively game. Some excellent defensive from Sophie Cuthbert and Molly McGuckian (who was standing in as goal keeper and played extremely well) meant that The Perse were only allowed to score 6 goals over the next three quarters. After a nervous start, Harriet Lathwell, who had stepped up from the B team for this match, made some outstanding interceptions and supported the play down the court excellently.
Star Player: Harriet LathwellFelsted kept up their attacking form and continued to score steadily, seeing them end with an 18-11 victory. This should keep their confidence high for the busy week of fixtures coming up.
U14 B
Result: Won 8-2
Match report: On Saturday March 3rd , The U14 B team played The Perse School in an exciting game of netball. Georgia Willson, Isla Cuthbert and Anastasia May all played exceptionally well and with great enthusiasm .
We had great encouragement from the side-lines, where Fey Ayodeji gave golden expertise! All played fantastically well leading to an 8-2 win.

U14 v Kimbolton/Stamford
U14 A V Kimbolton/Stamford
U14 B V Kimbolton/Stamford
U14 C V Kimbolton
Result: Won 16-4
Match report: A tight match which was strongly fought on each side. Felsted were ahead by three goals to one by the end of the first third and the goal scoring partnership of Katie Cload and Georgia Willson continued to work well throughout the match. It was a very fast-moving game and Kimbolton had an excellent centre and wing defence that really kept our girls busy. Their goal attack and goal shoot were also strong, but new goal-keeper Faye Calow and Sophia managed to keep them at bay, despite Kimbolton’s four goals in the final quarter. Fairly nail-biting finish to the match, but Felsted put in yet another excellent performance to win.
Result: Felsted v Kimbolton: Won 15-9, Felsted v Stamford: Won 22-8
Match report: A bright spring day saw Felsted involved in a triangular fixture. Their first match against Kimbolton was very evenly matched in the first third, with Kimbolton slightly edging ahead to be 6-4 in front after the first 10 minutes. However, Felsted have learnt to keep battling on and came out fighting in the second third. Excellent defending from Molly McGuckian, Rachael Freedman and Sophie Cuthbert meant that Kimbolton were only allowed to add one more to their score, whilst shooters Tabby Carey and Caitlin Perrie added 6 to Felsted’s total, bringing them to 10-7 at the end of the second third.
Excellent support from the centre court players, Immy Flynn, Bea Stone and Jemima Upton, meant that Felsted held onto their lead in the final third, finishing 15-9 in front. Special mention goes to captain Jemima Upton for excellent defensive and attacking play, making sure that the ball was worked smoothly up the court.
After a match break Felsted were back on court to play Stamford. Buoyed by their earlier win, Felsted came out all guns blazing. The goals kept on coming with shooter Tabby Carey on excellent form, and Goal Attack Caitlin Perrie ably supporting her in the attacking circle. Solid work from the rest of the team, with some excellent passing and smooth movement of the ball, meant that Stamford could not keep up and Felsted were ahead 13-3 at the end of the first half.
The second half saw more of the same for Felsted. All their hard work paid off with a final score of 22-8 to Felsted.
Felsted showed how their hard work during training is paying off with some excellent netball in both matches today. This was recognised by the opposition coaches who commented on the high level of play by Felsted. Today’s victories were a real team effort and Felsted should be extremely proud of their achievements.

Result: Felsted v Kimbolton: Lost 15-10, Felsted v Stamford: Won 10-6
Match report: On Saturday the 25th of February, the Under 14 B girls approached the three way tournament against Stamford and Kimbolton on home turf with a sense of determination. The sun was shining and the girls were enjoying their warm up in the sun. After a tricky first quarter, the girls realised that Kimbolton were putting them through their paces and would have to work extra hard to gain possession on pitch. We lost narrowly in the final quarter 15 - 10. After a 30 minute gap and recharge the girls came on court fighting to beat Stamford and the first half of the game saw Stamford slightly ahead. After a motivational talk from RLS and the captain, Annie Martine, the girls fought their way to a 10 - 6 victory; I couldn't have been more proud of the way that we turned it around. Man of the match was awarded to Hattie against Kimbolton for aggressive play and Faye against Stamford for focused shooting. Rewarded with cake and tea post match = bliss!

U14 A v Chigwell
Result: Won 18-6
Result: Won 8-1
Match report: On Tuesday, we played Chigwell away and we were victorious with a win of 8-1. The woman of the match was awarded to two star players: Lara Stratton and Annie Martine - well done to all the girls in the B squad for a successful start to the second half of the season!
Star Player: Lara Stratton and Annie Martine
Match report: Refreshed from their half term break, Felsted U14A team came out fighting in their first match back. They dominated throughout the whole match against a lacklustre Chigwell side.
Felsted’s centre court play was superb with them only struggling to get the ball into the attacking circle on occasion. This excellent play was supported by top defending from Rachael Freedman, Sophie Cuthbert, Jemima Upton and Molly McGuckian.
Special mention goes to Jemima Upton who, on return to the ‘A’ team played superbly in both defensive and attacking roles.
Now Felsted are working better together as a team we can look to dominate in our upcoming matches.

U14 A
Result: Won 20-12
U14 B
Result: Won 17-3
Result: Won 20-12
Match report: After a week of hard work during training Felsted put in an excellent performance against Haileybury to return to winning form. Felsted started strongly, putting into practice the skills they had learnt during the week. The passing and dodging was much improved this week and showed in the strong attacking drives down the court. Felsted's defence were excellent throughout the match, making impressive interceptions and frustrating the Haileybury attack.
An ankle injury to the Haileybury Goal Shooter saw them need to make a substitution, but even with this upset they continued to battle hard and pulled closer in the second and third quarters. However, Felsted kept their cool and continued to fight hard, pulling away further in the last quarter.
It was a skilful and well driven performance from Felsted, one that we will hope to continue to build upon over the coming weeks.
Star Player: Sophie CuthbertU14 B
Result: Won 17-3
Match report: With the prospect of a snowy weekend, the U14 B girls wrapped up warmly for their home match this Saturday. After welcoming opposition, we scored 5 goals in the first quarter and set the tone for the match through effective communication and movement drills employed in practices showing their use in match situations. Our captain, Ellie Barham, led the girls through the team chats and in the final quarter we pulled in a good 8 goals and felt the victory of a win on home turf.
Star Player: Hattie BotwrightMan of the Match must go to Hattie Botwright who provides the back bone of the squad in the centre third and always carries the team through! A good win to have under our belts - well done ladies!

U14 v Bishop's Stortford College
U14 A
Result: Lost 23-16
Match report: After a defeat by Framlingham in their last match, the U14 A team came out with enthusiasm to meet Bishop Stortford. The start of the match saw the two teams pretty evenly matched, with BS 3 goals ahead at the end of the first quarter. However, the second and third quarters saw some excellent shooting and centre court play by the BS girls, accompanied by some careless errors and poor passing by Felsted. This lead to BS being 20-10 up going into the final quarter.

Felsted's defence came out firing in the last quarter and some excellent interceptions from Molly McGuckian, Sophie Cuthbert and Rachael Freedman meant that Felsted started to pull back. However, solid shooting from BS meant that they maintained their lead to the finish.
From this match Felsted will be working on their passing and set plays to return to winning form.
U14 B
Result: Lost 32-9
Match report: Our first loss. Our hopes for an undefeated season collapsed today as we faced the mighty U14 B squad of Bishop Stortford. All of their team played with a determination, yet in the third and fourth quarter we made them work hard for their victory.
Star Player: L32-9 Harriet Lathwell intercepted particularly well and her efforts were much appreciated by all of the squad, so much so that she was acknowledged as Man of the Match. Immy Hewing-Powell encouraged the team with her positive vibes from the goal area and led the team through some tactical strategies inbetween quarters. Hopefully, we can use this match as a learning curve and improve on certain skills for our Haileybury match on Saturday. Otherwise a fighting attitude from all my girls - well done!
U14 C
Result: Lost 27-5Match report: Bishop's Stortford gave an excellent performance today and were just too strong for the Felsted girls. After the first three or four minutes, Bishop's Stortford had scored five goals and things were not looking great for the away team. Although the opposition went on to score four more before the break, Felsted also won two back, ending the first quarter at 9-2. Next, Felsted scored one more, but Bishop's Stortford were storming ahead and the half ended 13-3. However, there was still all to play for and the girls came back for the second half with spirits still high and plenty of enthusiasm. Unfortunately, the strong passing and speed of the Bishop's Stortford team meant that Felsted struggled to get possession of the ball and to find space when they did have it. Felsted did score one more goal and there were a few excellent interceptions and passes throughout, but today was Bishop Stortford’s day – well done to them.

U14 A v Framlingham
Result: Lost 19-16
Match report: A cold and windy Framlingham saw the U14As suffer their first defeat of the season. Framlingham started strongly, with excellent shooting and capitalising on the initial mistakes being made by Felsted. The second and third quarters saw a bit of a comeback from Felsted but it was in the fourth that they really got into their stride and scores drew level. However, in the last few minutes of the match Framlingham shooters once again capitalised on some excellent passing and pulled ahead again until the final whistle.
