Match report: A bright spring day saw Felsted involved in a triangular fixture. Their first match against Kimbolton was very evenly matched in the first third, with Kimbolton slightly edging ahead to be 6-4 in front after the first 10 minutes. However, Felsted have learnt to keep battling on and came out fighting in the second third. Excellent defending from Molly McGuckian, Rachael Freedman and Sophie Cuthbert meant that Kimbolton were only allowed to add one more to their score, whilst shooters Tabby Carey and Caitlin Perrie added 6 to Felsted’s total, bringing them to 10-7 at the end of the second third.
Excellent support from the centre court players, Immy Flynn, Bea Stone and Jemima Upton, meant that Felsted held onto their lead in the final third, finishing 15-9 in front. Special mention goes to captain Jemima Upton for excellent defensive and attacking play, making sure that the ball was worked smoothly up the court.
After a match break Felsted were back on court to play Stamford. Buoyed by their earlier win, Felsted came out all guns blazing. The goals kept on coming with shooter Tabby Carey on excellent form, and Goal Attack Caitlin Perrie ably supporting her in the attacking circle. Solid work from the rest of the team, with some excellent passing and smooth movement of the ball, meant that Stamford could not keep up and Felsted were ahead 13-3 at the end of the first half.
The second half saw more of the same for Felsted. All their hard work paid off with a final score of 22-8 to Felsted.
Felsted showed how their hard work during training is paying off with some excellent netball in both matches today. This was recognised by the opposition coaches who commented on the high level of play by Felsted. Today’s victories were a real team effort and Felsted should be extremely proud of their achievements.

Match report: On Saturday the 25th of February, the Under 14 B girls approached the three way tournament against Stamford and Kimbolton on home turf with a sense of determination. The sun was shining and the girls were enjoying their warm up in the sun. After a tricky first quarter, the girls realised that Kimbolton were putting them through their paces and would have to work extra hard to gain possession on pitch. We lost narrowly in the final quarter 15 - 10. After a 30 minute gap and recharge the girls came on court fighting to beat Stamford and the first half of the game saw Stamford slightly ahead. After a motivational talk from RLS and the captain, Annie Martine, the girls fought their way to a 10 - 6 victory; I couldn't have been more proud of the way that we turned it around. Man of the match was awarded to Hattie against Kimbolton for aggressive play and Faye against Stamford for focused shooting. Rewarded with cake and tea post match = bliss!
