U15 A v St Edmund's

Result: Won 30-5

The girls were highly focused and determined for this match. The play began strong, with Felsted gaining a comfortable lead. As the match continued, the girls’ play became even more fluid, with accurate passing and great movement off the ball. The attack worked the ball into the D and the shooters were on point, with the defence denying St Edmunds’ opportunities on goal. Whilst the opposition may have begun to lose their concentration, Felsted maintained their high level of play, resulting in an astounding 30-5 victory.

Tuesday 26th February
Result: Won 20-16
The Felsted girls started with a very positive attitude and lead in the first quarter, but only by one goal! They went into the second quarter with a calm and steady rhythm, creating space for each other and working as a team. Their lead increased and the score at half time was 11-8 to Felsted.  In the third quarter the Felsted girls lost focus slightly and St Edmunds pulled back. The Felsted girls stayed strong and held their lead until the final whistle, making the score at full time 20-16 to Felsted.

U14 C v Kimbolton

Saturday 23rd February
Result: Lost 13-11

This was a tightly fought contest as the Felsted girls played with maximum effort throughout the match. We began well, with five goals in the first quarter compared to their two. Giselle Bacheta was on fine form as Goal Shooter and practically scored every goal she shot. Paula Marco Santesteban was brilliant as Centre, as she had a huge desire to win and therefore was active in every part of the court. By half time, the score was 7-6 to Kimbolton. In the second half, Hannah A’Violet and Alix Halfide have to be especially praised for their strong defensive play. Alix was extremely adept at watching the movement of the play and providing key link passes back to our circle. For this, she won a well-deserved Lady of the Match. By the third quarter, we were drawing, as Kimbolton improved throughout the match. It came down to the last ten minutes. Some lovely spatial play was evident with a strong partnership between Katya Chattwell and Paula but unfortunately Kimbolton managed to take the lead with two last minute goals. It was a delight to watch the girls work so well as a team and produce some superb play on court.

U14 B v Kimbolton

Saturday 23rd February
Result: 11-11
This match was a tough one with all girls playing their best, we came back with a draw, 11-l1 and are still the unbeaten team! Well done to all the girls and to Miss Speight too! I was elected Man of the Match by the squad for all my efforts on court - all that extra shooting practice paid off.

U15 A v Kimbolton

Result L 25 -17
After travelling the long distance to Kimbolton, and with snow beginning to fall, the girls were overjoyed to discover they would be playing indoors! Spirits were high as the first quarter came to an end, with the Felsted girls having an 8-5 lead on Kimbolton. Marking became a little lax and Kimbolton managed to pull ahead. Felsted continued to work hard until the end of that match, but were unfortunately unable to make up the difference in goals, which was not helped by a last quarter surge from Kimbolton and some distraction from spectators. The determination by Felsted, however was admirable and I hope this attitude will be taken forward into our remaining matches.
