U16 A v RHS

Saturday 12th January 2013
Result: Won 24-6
After a slow start, the shooters gained confidence and play started to flow well. Despite the cold, players moved well and passed with strength and accuracy. The final score of 24 - 6 was well deserved. Emily O'Connor was selected as the player of the match for her excellent passing as GK and Centre.

3rd VII v RHS

Saturday 12th January 2013
Result: Lost 25-10
Felsted had the stronger start in the match this afternoon, but RHS gained momentum concluding the game with 25 goals to Felsted's 10. The game was dynamic and much closer than the score line suggests.  Kim Elms scored a fantastic goal from near the edge of the circle and Lucy Muir (player of the match) demonstrated impressive commitment and creativity. All the players contributed to a great "team spirit", bonding well together and showing good potential for the season ahead!

U15 B vs RHS

Saturday 12th January 2013
Result: Won 23-4
The U15B has a victorious start to the term beating RHS 23-4. Molly McGuckian led the time well and earned herself woman of the match for her persistent energy in what was some very cold conditions! The shooters showed real promise for the term ahead and the height of our defence ensured RHS struggled to gain opportunities to shoot. A great start.

U14 B v RHS

Saturday 12th January 2013
Result: Won 10-6
Saturday was our first match of the season and having had little training and being freezing cold, we were all nervous about playing the Royal Hospital School. By the end of the first quarter, the score was 3-2 to Felsted, but even though we were winning we knew that they would come back out fighting, so we matched their attitude. At half time, the score was 5-3 to Felsted but once again we went back out trying our hardest. Throughout the game, we all played very well, but at some points we got ahead of ourselves and tried to play at a pace that we were not capable of, so once Miss Speight told us to slow down and to play our game, not theirs, we were fine. The final score was 10-6 to Felsted with great efforts from everyone in the team but player of the match was awarded to Olivia Fenn who made some amazing interceptions throughout the game.

2nd VII v RHS

Saturday 12th January 2013
Result: Won 23-14
The 2nd VII made an inspirational start to the season by beating RHS 23-14. The match, played in good spirit and with great enthusiasm, witnessed some outstanding performances and excellent shooting. Player of the match went to Hattie Holmes, who, after being forced off court following a fall, later returned to continue with a most effective performance. Mention too, must also go to Bella Thomas, Who did not  start the  game but came on to provide a versatile and powerful performance as a mid court player and a shooter.
